Vintage Woodworks is BC’s heritage millwork supplier. Our specialty is providing restorations products for historic windows, doors, mouldings and brackets storefronts and the manufacture of new wood products that can match heritage design while meeting environmental concerns.

We have studied methods of millwork shops from years gone by and learned that quality craftsmanship that can last a lifetime. Residential Business Development Manager

As we embark on an ambitious journey to significantly increase our revenue in the coming years, we are in search of a seasoned Residential Business Development Manager to spearhead our residential sales and moulding sales efforts. This is a new role that we have opened to expand and support our success in this area of our business.
As a Residential Business Development Manager at Vintage Woodworks, you will be instrumental in driving our sales initiatives forward. Leveraging your extensive experience and industry knowledge, you will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, as well as responding to customer requests for product, while nurturing existing client relationships. Your strategic mindset, coupled with your unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction, will be paramount in achieving our sales objectives.
Whether you’re based in the Greater Victoria area or Vancouver, you’ll have the flexibility to work either from our head office or remotely. Reporting directly to our Vice President, Business Development you will have the support needed to excel in your role.
Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including prospecting new clients, managing accounts, conducting site visits, preparing quotes, and handling customer inquiries with finesse and creativity. Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, coupled with your excellent communication skills, will be crucial as you liaise between clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Proactively prospect and cultivate new client relationships by building a sales pipeline to meet sales quotas.

  • Respond to inbound calls from existing and new clients.

  • Respond appropriately to inbound residential emails.

  • Identify unmet customer needs and recommend product line up sales.

  • Drive revenue growth through strategic sales efforts.

  • Strong negotiation and consultative sales skills.

  • Provide exemplary top level customer service and support throughout the sales process.

  • Conduct site visits and prepare accurate quotes through our Joinery Management System (a software system from the UK specific to joinery).

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project success and timely delivery.

  • Maintain detailed records and reports.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.

  • Keep abreast of industry trends to understand how to penetrate the market and gain customer interest.

  • Support an environment of teamwork and trust.
     

Education, Skills and Experience:
 

  • A bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred

  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of sales experience. Favour will be given to applicants who have experience in the construction or trades industry.

  • Strong track record of sales generation

  • Strong mathematical and English language skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications

  • Experience with, SharePoint (which includes a CRM and Projects Module), and QuickBooks Online is an asset.

  • Public Speaking and professional representation with competence to lead/attend conferences and similar events.

  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving and customer service skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong organizational abilities and time management skills.

  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and independently.

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
